Tom Wahl earned his bachelor’s degree from Seattle University in Humanities and in Business Administration. He continued his studies at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, earning a master’s degree in Communication.

Before teaching, Tom worked in marketing with a Fortune 500 firm in their Seattle, New York, and Washington D.C. offices. Then he made a career change, married an Air Force officer, and moved overseas where he started his academic career teaching business communication courses at the University of Maryland, University College. While overseas he also worked with companies editing their English marketing communications.

After being stationed in Japan, Washington D.C., and Germany, Tom’s wife retired from the Air Force, and they returned to the US. Tom started teaching with UCCS in 2010.
He teaches courses in business writing and grants writing for non-profits.
