About
Shirley joined UCCS in 2024 as an Assistant Teaching Professor for the Department of Technical Communication and Information Design. She has been teaching for over 22 years.
Previously Shirley worked in the aerospace and technology industry focused on solar engineering, satellite controls, data relay, and aerospace logistics. She has also contracted for government agencies such as NASA and the NPS. Her current research and publication interests involve artificial intelligence, engineering ethics, equitable systems, and preservation.
Shirley earned the Ph.D. in Technical Communication and Rhetoric from Texas Tech University.
