C. Baye Herald holds degrees from Jacksonville University (BA) and the University of Colorado at Denver (MA) and is UX certified (NN/g).

Baye’s focuses on technical editing and writing practices, online teaching pedagogy, and understanding the learner’s experience as it relates to online learning. She is currently working on an Open Educational Resource (OER) textbook, Technical Writing Across the Professions. Additionally, she works annually with community and international partners to develop service-learning opportunities for her TCID courses. During her career in higher education, she has worked in career services, university retention, program management, quality course assessment, and faculty mentoring. 

She currently teaches courses on professional and technical communication, and technical editing.
