About Baye Herald

Baye Herald joined UCCS in 2008 and is currently a Teaching Professor and a Daniels Fund Ethics Fellow in the Department of Technical Communication and Information Design.

At UCCS, Baye has developed an Open Educational Resource (OER) textbook, Technical Writing Across the Professions, for TCID 3080 Advanced Professional and Technical Writing, for which she was recognized as a UCCS OER Champion in 2023. Additionally, she works annually with campus, community, and international partners to develop service-learning opportunities for her TCID courses. In addition to teaching, she has previously served as a Teaching Fellow for the Faculty Resource Center (2022-2024).

During her career in higher education (2000-present), she has worked not only as a faculty member, but has also served institutions as program director, internship coordinator, retention management specialist, faculty mentor, and reading and writing center consultant.

Baye earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Jacksonville University (FL) in 1998 and a Master of Arts in Composition & Rhetoric from the University of Colorado at Denver in 2002. She holds certifications in Copyediting from Poynter University (2023) and in User Experience (UX) from the Neilsen/Norman Group (2017).
